Hey everybody,
Since I have now been revived from the lands of Fallout 4 and Dark Souls 3 by the might power of the Phoenix Feather, I am planning on doing a revamp of the site. Please leave your ideas on the comments and I will see if I can work them in.

I have cleared the outdated event calander and would like to add updated events that people would like to do. I know use of the site has slacked off in the last few months and that is one reason the event calander has been left to rot but I would like to get more people using the site again. In light of this, I plan on updating the event calander and would like ideas about nights and times that people would like events on.

To further strengthen account security when playing FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, players are encouraged to log in using a security token or software token.

These security devices generate one-time passwords, which remain effective for only a fixed period of time and become invalid once the user logs in, offering protection against spyware such as key logging programs. Using a one-time password in combination with your Square Enix ID and password will offer greatly strengthened security for your account.

Learn more about how to register your one-time password.

In-Game Bonus for One-Time Password Users

As of patch 2.2, when logged into the game with a one-time password, you will have the option to designate one aetheryte of your choice as a free destination. Teleporting to your free destination will incur no gil fee. Moreover, you may change your free destination as many times as desired.
* The free destination is only valid for Square Enix accounts with a registered one-time password.
* In the event your one-time password has been deactivated, teleporting to your destination will incur a gil fee. Furthermore, your free location cannot be changed while your one-time password is deactivated.

As a quick and easy way to ensure a safe and secure gaming experience, we highly recommend all users take advantage of the one-time password feature.

The event schedule has been updated to a revolving, six day cycle due to people not being able to attend events because they fell on the same day every week. I hope that this alleviates this problem and helps us to get more participation for event, especially for the ones to help out the FC members that have fallen behind such as Story Progression night. Also, for the late night crowd, the standard that I would like to set is for there to be a second duplicate event at 11 or 12pm so that y'all can organize to get stuff done as well.

As always, please sign up for events if you want to run them. If you think you might not be avalible but would like to participate, click maybe instead of yes, that way people who are participatingwill know that there is a potential of you showing up. To the Late night people, also sign up and just state in the comments that you are planning on attending the later event. Please, get into the habit of signing up if you intend to participate, this not only reserves you a spot if the event is full but it also helps event organizers to plan ahead.

(Also, if you need an event set up because you need a specific dungeon because you are having trouble getting a reliable group, send a PM thru the site to either Bartel or me or any of the other Officers for help getting an event set up.)

With the release of patch 2.1 ushering in the long awaited free company housing, you can bet that free company membership activity will be on the rise in a big way! Setting up your house is no solo endeavor and free companies are going to need to enlist the help of as many members as possible to establish a spectacle of a house – both inside and out!

While many free companies have taken to the forums, shouting in Mor Dhona, and other means to recruit members, we would like to give free companies an opportunity to promote recruitment with a video contest! All you need to do is organize your members, create a promotional video for your free company, and upload your video to YouTube. Not only will you gain new members, but if your video is chosen, all the members of your free company will receive the exclusive Ahriman Choker in-game item!

As we work toward the release of patch 2.1, we'd like to give you a peek at what you can expect in the first major update for FINAL FANTASY XIV. Today, we'll focus on housing.

Housing Overview

Players will be able to purchase a house together with members of their free company. The house may then be used for a number of in-game activities.
* While there are plans to allow for individual housing in the future, only free company housing is scheduled for patch 2.1.

In order to acquire a house, players must first raise the rank of their free company and obtain a Land Acquisition entitlement.

Residential Districts

Residential districts will be instanced to accommodate fluctuating player populations.

Entrances to residential districts in each city-state may be found in the following locations:

City

Limsa Lominsa / Gridania / Ul'dah

Housing Area

Mist / Lavender Beds / The Goblet

Entrance

Lower La Noscea / Central Shroud / Western Thanalan
Cedarwood / Bentbranch / Hammerlea
Red Rooster Stead / Mirror Planks Pier / The Eighty Sins of Sasamo

* Locations of residential district entrances are subject to change.

Acquiring a House

1. Purchasing Land

Plots of land will be sold by auction. An unowned plot can be purchased by first examining the placard located at its entrance. Land may be purchased in any city, regardless of your free company's affiliation. Furthermore, only free company members with proper authorization may purchase land. For the time being, only one plot may be purchased by a single free company, though the ability to purchase multiple plots is scheduled for a future update.

2. Auction System

The designated prices for all plots of land available for auction are set to be reduced every six hours. To confirm the price of an unowned plot or make a purchase, examine the placard located at its entrance.

* Development screenshot—subject to change.

3. Purchasing a House Permit

House permits will be available for purchase from a vendor NPC.

4. Building a House

After purchasing a plot of land, build a house by using a house permit on said plot.

* Development screenshot—subject to change.

Remodeling a House

1. Customizing the House Exterior

A house is comprised of four mandatory parts—roof, exterior wall, windows, and door—along with up to four optional parts: roof decoration, exterior wall decoration, placard, and fence.

* Any parts used to customize your house will be consumed, and disappear from your inventory.

2. Outdoor Furnishings

A number of furnishings can be placed in the garden outside of your house. The following three options will be available to adjust their position:

Move: Change the position of selected furnishing.
Rotate: Rotate the selected furnishing
Remove: Remove the selected furnishing from the garden.

* The number of furnishings that can be placed in your garden will depend on the size of your land.
* Once a furnishing has been placed in the garden, it can no longer be traded. Furthermore, certain furnishings will be lost upon placing them in or removing them from the garden.

3. Customizing the Interior

A number of parts including the wallpaper, flooring, and lighting of the interior can be changed.

4. Placing Furnishings in the House

A wide range of furnishings will be available to decorate the interior of your estate including tables, lamps, plants, wall mountings, carpets, and more. Certain furnishings can be placed on top of others, such as lamps atop tables or desks.

* The positioning of furnishings inside a house can be adjusted using an interface similar to the one used for the exterior.
* Once a furnishing has been placed in the house, it can no longer be traded. Furthermore, certain furnishings will be lost upon placing them in or removing them from the garden.

Planned Additions to the Housing System

  • A crafting workshop where players can build vehicles such as airships.
  • An orchestrion to change the music played inside houses.
  • A chocobo stable to raise chocobos.
  • Mannequins that can be dressed with player gear.
  • A bulletin board that can be place inside the house.

* The specific names of these features are subject to change.

These are but a few of the ideas planned for player housing.

With the release of patch 2.1, free companies will finally have a base of operations to call home. We hope you will enjoy this new addition to the world of Eorzea and look forward to the many related features that will follow.

* Please note that housing is still in development, and certain details are still subject to change.

For more details on the housing, check out Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX.

We will shortly be contacting players affected by the earlier security issue with the Market via the primary e-mail address registered on individual Square Enix Accounts, once the maintenance has been completed.

A GM (Game Master) will then contact you directly in-game, but players are free to continue playing as usual until then.
If you are logged out at the point a GM tries to contact you, they will attempt to reach you again later on.

For further assistance, whether this problem affects you or not, if you do not receive any notification, then please refer to the details concerning this Market issue from the in-game Support Desk.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
